Porter / CDL driver

Gateway Truck & Refrigeration, a Carrier Refrigeration, Volvo, and Hino truck dealer with multiple locations in the St. Louis Metro area is in search of a part-time Porter / CDL Driver. 
 

PORTER / DRIVER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receiving new trucks:  inspect truck, note damage, record mileage, obtain driver's signature For trucks with damage noted, give copy of signed delivery receipt to Truck Warranty Manager with stock number and customer name (if sold).  Complete stock sticker and install on truck.  Complete key tags
• Fuel Trucks
• Complete required form for PDI and give to service.  Park truck on service line.  Give required and keys to service.  Give 2 delivery receipts and one key to Sales Support-Truck employee.
• Once PDI is complete, park stock trucks on the truck line
• Keep truck line organized and slots in bullpen full.  Update lot diagram daily
• Start each truck weekly
• Assist with delivery of trucks to customers
• Assist when bank conducts collateral check.  Unlock and lock each truck; reorganize keys back in the key box.
• Keep lot free of litter
• Detail sold trucks:  wash/clean/get ready for delivery/complete non-PDI items (mud flaps, chrome, etc.)
• Detail stock trucks:  wash/clean/get ready for front line/complete non-PDI items (mud flaps, chrome, etc.)
• Works under general supervision.
• Other reasonably related duties as assigned

• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the detailing field.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Valid State Issued Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and clean driving record
• Valid DOT medical card (or ability to obtain)

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Standing six to eight hours per shift
• Occasionally lift from floor to waist 30 pounds
• Occasionally lift from floor to chest height 50 pounds.
• Occasionally lift/carry 50 - 75 pounds at waist level
• Occasionally lift overhead up to 60 pounds.
• Occasionally carry with right hand 50 - 75 pounds.
• Occasionally carry with left hand 50 - 75 pounds.
• Frequent stooping, crawling, climbing, bending, walking, and use of creeper and ladder
• Frequent overhead scrubbing 5 pounds
• Frequent standing trunk rotation
• Frequent/continuous standing reach 24 inches from body
• Exposure to:  Water, cleaning agents, waxes, noise, vibration, dust, exhaust and paint fumes, hazardous and non-hazardous materials, weather conditions, insects, welding fumes, acids, varying environmental temperatures of hot to cold, operating equipment at night and use of artificial light.
