System Administrator

Gateway Truck & Refrigeration, a Carrier Refrigeration, Volvo, and Hino truck dealer with multiple locations in Illinois and Missouri, is in search of a System Administrator for our Collinsville, IL corporate location. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Systems Support
• Establish and maintain user accounts through Active Directory and Exchange
• Utilize IT Helpdesk for ticket management
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
• Configure/deploy new desktop and laptop computers
• Build and administer user logins in various website applications
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with vehicle diagnostics on service technician laptops
• Order computer and office supplies
• Assist with asset management and inventory
• Install, configure, and maintain network printers
• Network Administration / Service Support
• Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support and special projects
• Assists in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support
• Assists in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software
• Monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges.
• Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential
• Provide Citrix support for remote branches
• Multiple platform environment ( Server 2003 / 2008, 2016, Windows 7/8/10, Linux, Apple)
• Other reasonably related duties as assigned

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Provide technical support to users
• Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, IP
• Basic network tests- Ping, Tracert, IP Config
• Administer day-to-day operation of networks and servers
• Implement LAN maintenance and management procedures
• Communicate effectively in both oral and written form
• Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to staff
• Strong analytical skills
• Work well both alone and in a team setting
• A commitment to great customer service

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma in computer science, management information systems or business administration, supplemented with one or more courses in current technology.
• Position requires 2 years of experience as an administrator on a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technologies.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Working in multiple locations
• Some travel 20%
• Occasionally lift/carry 30 pounds at waist level
• Frequent stooping, climbing, bending, walking, and crawling on some days
• Respond in a timely manner to the varied and urgent needs of Gateway Industrial Power
• Memory judgment and social interactions
• Exposure to:  noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, hazardous and non-hazardous materials, weather conditions, insects, welding fumes, and varying environment temperatures of hot to cold.
